The Kingfisher  Square Stern

Imagine a square stern canoe that can carry a load and take a beating, but that weighs well only 55 pounds! The Kingfisher is 17  feet long, and is based on our tried and true Quetico 18.5 form. With a slightly heavier layup, the canoe has tested well with small gasoline or electric motors. Though the square stern will slow it down some, this canoe may still be paddled efficiently.

The Kingfisher has been approved in Canada and the U.S. for loads up to 600 pounds and a two horsepower motor.
